On Saturday 18th June the Northside Superleague Finals took place at Coops Tennis Centre and Shaw Park Tennis Centre. All our superleague players had played the entire 20 week season, every Saturday afternoon for the first 6 months of the year. Luckily the forecasted rain stayed away long enough to allow our players to participate in their FINALS DAY! Samford Tennis Club had 8 teams playing the Superleague Competition throughout Season 1 2016. Out of these 8 teams, 6 teams did well enough to make the Semi Finals. Out of these 6 Semi Finalists, 5 teams made the GRAND FINAL. This is an amazing achievement and everyone involved should be very proud. We were lucky enough to take away 2 Winners Titles and 3 Runner Up Titles.

Below are all the finalists!

Division 1 – The Samford One Hit Wonders consisting of Saam Roshan, Antony Tenaglia and Amir Abar took out the division with a WINNERS title.

Division 8 – The Samford Powerful Owls with members Alana Clark and Antony Stephens unfortunately had to verse their friends in the finals defeating another Samford team, The Samford Angels consisting of Isabel Vittone Taylor and Sophia Kelly. Luckily being friends, the matches showed great sportsmanship and wonderful talent!

Junior League 1 – The Samford Dorminators consisting of friends Connor Hay, Felix Gow, James Bruce, Daniel Dawes and Sam Delekta were Runner Ups after an amazing season!

Junior League 4 – The Samford Young Guns consisting of Christian Dunn, James Burches, Zac Panagiotopoulos and Immogen Brown were Runner Ups after their first ever superleague season!

Our other Semi Finalists team was the Samford Mischiefs consisting of Rhys Warner, Leni Pulu, Kelly Swemmer and Luke Hutchings. Unfortunately after a close semi finals this team just missed out on making the Finals.

Congratulations to all our superleague Semi Finalists and Finalists. We are very proud of all your efforts and hope you enjoyed the Season!

Next Season we will be adding more teams and another Samford Location to allow more players and teams to enjoy this wonderful Saturday Fixtures Competition.
