On Sunday 30/08/2015 we held our annual junior hotshots tournament at the Samford Tennis Club. With over 150 people coming through the door and an overflowing car park, we new we were in for a fantastic day of tennis. Our young red hotshots kicked the day off at 8am with some awesome tennis over the mini nets and competition was as close as it comes with the final being decided by only two points. It was the the orange ball hotshots turn and with the temperatures increasing and the longest timeslot of the day, we new the kids were in for a tough one. The competition was intense and matches could not have been closer by once again coming down to just two points to decide the winner. Thankfully after the first two competitions with scores being so close and nerves at an all time high, we didn’t need to call an ambulance for anyone. It was then time for the green ball players to take to the court and show everyone the skills they have been working on with their coaches. The green ball event had players coming back from match point down on more then one occasion and didn’t help the stress levels for all those watching. After an amazing tournament we had our winner after a very impressive display of tennis and keeping calm under pressure. Our yellow ball students raced on to the court in our highest standard tournament to date. With players coming from the other side of town and players ranked as high as number 2 in the country for their age it was amazing tennis to watch. The final was eventually fought out by two brothers in a very entertaining final. We would like to thank everyone who played and attended the event and hope you all had as good a time as we did. Congratulations to all the participants and one thing is for certain, the future looks very bright for Australian Tennis!
